All of our Single & Double rooms are fully booked however we are operating a waitlist for these rooms.

We currently have availability in twin spaces.

When selecting your room preferences DO NOT choose a room type that you are not willing to accpet, if offered.

Please see below the link to apply to the Dunaras Waiting List for the academic year 2018/19.

  • The first step will be to enter an e-mail address to receive an application code – it must be an e-mail address you have immediate access to, to retrieve the code, and does not have to be the e-mail address of the student applying.

  • If you have already applied to live at Gort na Coiribe or Centrepoint, please use an alternative e-mail to receive the initial access code on the first page of the application.

  • If you do not receive your application code straight away please check your junk-mail folder.

  • All applicants will go straight onto our Wait List – you will not be asked to pay a deposit. If a room becomes available for you we will be in contact via email.

  • When you select a room type and the system advises that it is not available but allows you to go on the Wait List, this is normal – please proceed.

The link to the online application is as follows:

We are currenltly assigning applicants on the Waiting List to rooms, in the order in which the application was received. Successful applicants will receive an e-mail and they will then be given 48 hours to pay the deposit to confirm the booking. Failure to pay the deposit within 48 hours will result in the room being offered to another applicant. If your room choice is not available then you will remain on the waitlist. Rooms will be offered to those on the waitlist in the order in which their application was received.

Tips for Living Away From Home

  • Be Responsible and Keep Safe - you are now 100% responsible for your own safety. Do not walk home alone after dark, stay with your friends, secure your doors and windows, do not invite people you do not know into your property.

  • Do what you enjoy - join campus groups that are affiliated with what you love, whether it is playing sports, creating art, or making music. College is a great opportunity to develop what you love and most of it is FREE.

  • Your friends become your family - so choose friends who will help and support you, but who will be fun to hang out with too.

  • Make healthy choices - there’s also no one looking over your shoulder making sure you don’t eat pizza for breakfast each morning. Take the initiative, do a weekly shop, prepare meals, eat a balanced diet and exercise. Try to get a good night’s sleep on a regular basis. University students have a lot of stress, and these actions will help you stay healthy and happy.

  • Get the Balance Right - you are now juggling study, independent living and your new found freedom.........get the balance right so you can maximize this great time in your life.

  • Stay connected to home - talk to family and friends on a regular basis. They want to hear how you’re doing at school so make it a regular habit to connect with loved ones.

  • Take Time for yourself - listen to what your body and head is telling you, if you need support it's available and free.

  • Ask for help if you need it - this adjustment isn’t always easy, but help is available. If you’re struggling with loneliness or emotionally, talk to a counselor or friend. If academics are harder than you thought, look for a tutor or speak to your professor about extra help. For issues with your accommodation you can contact the Dunaras office, for study or stress issues NUIG Accommodation and Welfare offers excellent support services for FREE.
